At the heart of the Mali Empire's greatness was not merely gold or territory — it was a sacred covenant between a people and their highest calling. Mali Kaylibeefay is the ancient Mande principle of the sworn oath of purpose: the binding declaration by which a leader, a community, or an individual commits their life to a cause greater than themselves.

The Empire
The Mali Empire (c. 1235–1600 CE) rose to become one of the most powerful and prosperous civilizations in human history under the Mansa — the sacred emperor-kings of the Mande people. At its peak under Mansa Musa I, the empire stretched across 1.2 million square miles of West Afrika, encompassing the great cities of Timbuktu, Djenné, and Niani. Its wealth was legendary, its scholarship unrivaled, and its governance rooted in a deep spiritual and ethical framework.
The Covenant
Kaylibeefay — derived from the Mande words for sacred oath (kali) and purpose or destiny (beefay) — was the covenant that bound the Mansa to his people and his people to their ancestors. It was not merely a political contract. It was a spiritual declaration: that one's life, one's power, and one's resources exist in service of the collective good, the ancestral legacy, and the generations yet unborn.
The Living Oath
The Sankore Afrikan Society carries this covenant forward. Every person of Afrikan descent who awakens to their heritage, reclaims their identity, and commits to the upliftment of their people is living the Mali Kaylibeefay. The oath is not spoken once — it is lived every day.

Mansa Kamara is a visionary life coach, Pan-Afrikanist, and speaker whose work is rooted in the ancient wisdom traditions of Afrika. Born with a fire for justice and a deep reverence for Afrikan heritage, Mansa has dedicated his life to awakening consciousness, restoring identity, and calling people of Afrikan descent into their highest purpose.Biography Of Mansa Sundiata Keita Kamara
In 1999, Mansa Sundiata Keita Kamara founded the Sankore African Society upon his return to the United States after his transformative pilgrimage to The Gambia. In 2004, he met the Esteemed Master Teacher of Mandinka and Malian traditions, Iba Ndiaye, who accepted him as a student and mentored him in the traditions that would shape his future mission. From a young age,Mansa Kamara dedicated himself to the preservation of African culture. He began training in martial arts at six and started teaching by seventeen, using martial arts to instill positive values within the African community. In 2001, the elders of Gunjur, the majestic, beautiful village in The Gambia, including Chief Alhaji Sheriff Jahanne, honored him by appointing him as the National Chief of the Mandinka Warrior Traditions.
In 2023, with the blessings of the Esteemed Master Teacher of Mandinka and Malian traditions, Iba Ndiaye, Mansa Kamara was coordinated as Mansa, becoming the first African-born individual in America to receive this honor. This milestone celebrated the founding of Mali Kaylibeefay (The Mali Empire West), a sovereign nation within the African diaspora, aimed at unifying Africans on the continent and throughout the diaspora, fostering cultural restoration and unity.
As a sought-after speaker, Mansa Sundiata Keita Kamara has addressed communities across the globe, delivering messages that challenge, inspire, and ignite. His work is not merely motivational — it is a call to action, a summons to every person of Afrikan descent to rise, remember who they are, and unite in building the future Afrika deserves.
